Our Humble Beginnings
Our journey began during a transformative time for our founders, Aidan and Ru. In 2019, Aidan was pursuing his studies at Northumbria University, while Ru was navigating the challenges of sixth form. Despite their busy schedules, they shared a vision: to create a brand that combined quality craftsmanship with unique, inspiring scents.
That vision took shape in the form of The Victorian Candle Co., and from the very beginning, it was a labor of love. With unwavering dedication, the duo experimented with different scents, crafting their signature fragrances like Orange Zest, Strawberry & Rhubarb, and Blueberry Pancakes.
Milestones and Growth
The remainder of 2019 was a whirlwind of creativity and achievement. Aidan and Ru poured their energy into the brand, attending local events like a Christmas Fair at a nearby college, where they showcased their products to the community. The positive reception was a testament to their hard work and the authenticity of their mission.
Later that year, they celebrated a significant milestone: securing their very first stockist. For the first time, their handcrafted candles were displayed in a physical shopfront, marking a pivotal step in their journey from a passion project to a blossoming business.
