The Victorian Candle Co. started in 2019, when brothers Aidan and Ru Blackett began hand-pouring candles in small batches — no factories, no shortcuts, just two people determined to make candles that actually did what they promised.
That's still exactly how we work today. Every candle is poured entirely by hand, using 100% natural soy wax and cotton wicks, in small batches we test ourselves before anything reaches a customer. If a scent doesn't burn cleanly and evenly for the full 20 hours we expect, it doesn't make the cut.

Handmade, not mass-produced
We could make more candles, faster, by cutting corners on wax, wicks or fragrance — but that's never been the point. Every candle, wax melt and diffuser we sell is made the same careful way it was on day one: hand-poured, small-batch, and checked by us before it ships.
Where we work
We're based in Carlisle, Cumbria, where every order is still hand-poured in our own workshop by our small team. It's a proper family business — run day-to-day by the two of us, with all the hands-on care that comes with it.
